My recent homemade project... SAFETY

so.. I have learned overtime that people like to use our driveway as a turn around and i have a feeling there are frequent offenders.. this is NOT safe for a family like us that spends every evening out on our driveway/patio with the kids playing bubbles, bikes, basketball, etc...

SOOOO, after researching on the market products (of which there is only one that would accomodate our 30ft wide driveway) I decided that i could not bare to spend 120 dollars for a barrier that is cheap orange with bad reviews that apparently can't even stop a ball nonetheless wind!! SOOOOOO knowing me as you all do, i decided to go out and do this on my own and make my own barrier that DOES stop the wind and balls and has a center support that means i can anchor it different directions to make it more tight if it does get a little windy.. IT WORKS BETTER THAN I IMAGINED IT WOULD!!! all it required was tarp, fence posts, garden flag holder with 2 skinny garden stakes, earth anchors, rope, a sewing machine, and thread... and MUSCLE.. and alot of it to ground those posts and anchors, i'm sore! but it was well worth it.. we tried it out today and it kept the kids in the play area and it kept the U-turners out!!! we actually saw two cars that were planning to use our driveway have to turn around in the middle of the street or try to uturn the main drag and have to go down one more block.. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.. oh and of course a picture.. We can also still park our cars at the end of the driveway to keep others out!! I feel soooo much safer for the kids and wandering balls and so far it has kept the kids on their bikes in our driveway and out of danger :) plus i just unhook the ends and wrap it to the center support in all of 30 seconds and its stored standing up in our garage during the night.. I do not have to post some morbid link to let you know that kids have died from delivery trucks entering driveways or kids running into streets... so i don't find my DIY silly at all!! OH AND I SPENT ONLY 35 DOLLARS FOR ALL THE SUPPLIES.. GO ME!!
