Leah is 8 months old!!!

Leah is now 8 months old.. sadly she's been sick the last few days and it seems no break in sight... she has had fevers 101-104 pretty much starting on friday and continuing.. we have been to the dr. who ran tests on urine, looked her up and down and for now just thinks its viral. She's eating well and has no other symptoms as of now.

As far as 8mo updates go:

-Leah weighed 18lb 4.5oz at the drs. which is really good, she's a little more than a half pound bigger than jacob was at this age! She's mainly into 12mo clothes now and sized 2 shoes (which of course she doesn't need as she has no desire to walk or stand)
-Still NO teeth, and no teething in sight
-No crawling, but she does go from sitting to her belly to her knees to up on her tippy toes then back to sitting and so on and so on.. so maybe crawling is coming soon?
-Sleeps well in her own room, usually wakes only once during the night to nurse now, goes to bed happily at 8pm everynight, would probably go sooner, but both kids have bath and story time and then bed, so she's adapted to the routine okay. she also still takes 3 good naps a day: at 1030, 130, and 530
-says "dada" constantly and started to whisper "ba ba" at times
-reaches for everything and it soothes her to "pull" my hair, ouch!!!
-likes a paci at nap and at night, but that's about it
-nurses every 2-3 hrs and does great with that during the day
-we have been giving solids maybe 1-2x a week, she loves them.. we aren't pushing it though..
-definitely a happy easy going baby at this time, she is scared of her brother sometimes as he likes to push her over or poke her or hug her a little too hard
-claps her hands more frequently, can wave hi back and tries to do soo big with her arms

Jacob has also had some advances this month too:
-He is talking better and better each month.. really starting to get into sentences and imaginative talk. Still not probably where he should be, but doing better...
-He is scared of the dark and says monsters and ghosts and dinosaurs are going to get him.. so he tends to wake and turn his light on then go to sleep on the floor?? crazy kid!
-not potty trained yet, we haven't attempted it this month.. but he still enjoys ripping off his diapers frequently
-the last week has been better as far as discipline goes and his behavior but its still a nightmare to take him to the library every thursday, he just runs up and down the aisles and hides and thinks its the greatest game! .. i knew i should have stuck the harness on him! He just loves book reading, we constantly read books at naptime and bedtime.. his favs. are dinosaur and monster books and also a pirate duck book in which he likes to squint his eyes and say "arrrhh.. shiver me timbers" while i read it. he can sing along to alot of songs now! and correctly says most words that he tries to say. he still does alot of "ah ah ah " as his sentence fillers but its getting bigger, he also has this silly saying that doesn't make sense that he does all the time and he makes the cutest face when he does it, it sounds like this " i sawing a schmloch dantro baggs loma" yet he's smiling at you as if he just said something really intelligent that you should understand, too funny

For halloween i decided to have leah be jacob's old duck costume.. i loved that costume and it would save us money from having to buy another costume when she really doesn't have a personality to match anything yet.. so for now, a duck it is and then jacob will be his choo choo train.

Well, good news! the tech guys were able to get all the pics off of my computer, so thats great! but my hard drive failed and i had to pay for a new one of those, so i still don't have my computer back... we hope in the next couple days.. THEN i will post some new pictures
