Jacob had applesauce for about a week when he was 4 weeks old mixed with medicine so we knew he had no allergy to that and since he has been trying to grab food off my plate and we got the okay for solids, I was eating an apple and decided to put a piece of the peeled apple in those mesh feeders and give it to him.. boy did he like it!! that is the first time ever that when something was taken away from him, he actually cried and reached out for it until he got it back.. here are a few pics of this.. i do have a video of him doing it too... he pretty much just "gummed" the mesh and you could hear the little apple being chomped on.. i don't think he actually got any apple, just the juice..
