Our Sick Little Boy

Jacob has had such a rough time these last couple weeks but you wouldn't know it by his alertness and smiles. Jacob started choking when having to eat down his prevacid with applesauce so he is going on a drug called zegerid which is a powder that can be mixed with his breast milk and given 2-3 times a day. I feel so much better about not having to give him those pellets in applesauce anymore. But whats going on in the picture is our newest issue. He has gotten a respiratory infection (bronchiolitis) which has now given him a wet frequent cough (on top of his reflux cough) and wheezing some of the time, also he just sounds very congested. He is getting an albuterol nebulizer treatment in the picture which is now being done by me (Becky) every 4 hours at home. The nebulizer treatment seemed to help at the doctor office, his oxygen saturations which should be above 92% were at one point 84% in the office , when we left he was 93% which was some improvement. He tolerates them okay, just afterwards he is very nervous like, with tremors to his legs. It is kind of cute how the mask is supposed to depict a dinosaur for when these are given to kids, but to me it is just very sad to see him with it... I have never worried so much in my life or cared for someone so much that it hurts me to see him not feel well. I think my faith and prayers is the only thing keeping me sane and i just wish for him to be a well and happy little infant. *oh yeah, he weighs 10 pounds 10 ounces now*
