Fantastic!!
Jacob is doing great!!!!!!!! i don't think i could put enough exclamation points on the end of that sentence. No cough, No gurgling, No fever, No runny nose and just as well as well can be. I am so glad spring/summer is just about here, he usually does so good during the summer and we made it thru the winter without needing ANY albuterol/xopenex/flovent, etc.... or having any MAJOR sicknesses.. we had a winter long cold but it was never bad that it got his loving and active little lifestyle down. I am sad to see that we have entered a new stage in his life though and that is self awareness/negativism.. he has discovered he has his own wants and needs and if they aren't met then he has the right to scream and stomp and cry all he wants, it's the terrible two's all at 14 months old. There are many crying fits each day but he is easily distracted, so it's easy to change that bad mood quickly. Our Parents as Teachers mentor came yesterday (Lynn) and Jacob always looks forward to her visits, as soon as she enters our door (which he actually waits for her by the door screaming) he attacks her and her big bag of toys and homemade activities. HE LOVES HER, i can't think of another person in this world that he is more excited to see (other than family members of course). He always does a great job of showing off his new skills. This time they were saying "elmo, uh oh" doing peekaboo, itsy bitsy spider, pointing at his ears, and patty cake. he also pointed out the dog and pig in the book on command and brought us a shoe she requested that was in the other room. He also walked backwards, carried a heavy box (which are advanced skills), put shapes into their correct holes, stacked blocks and made animal sounds (woof woof, oink oink)... She was VERY impressed by how much he already knows.. we started his 14-24 month checklist of developmental milestones he needs to reach and i can proudly say we are already on a great start at filling the sheet.. he has mastered ALL of the gross motor activities already and several of the other sections partially checked off. I think i've mentioned before that i brought up jacob's summer clothes that i had bought at garage sales for this summer and i think that is one of my favorite things to do each season, its fun to see all the cute outfits i bought at a mere price of 25 cents each! I did notice that all the 12-18 month shorts sat lower than his knees and seemed too large around the waste so I got out his 0-9 month summer clothes from last summer and gave his old khaki shorts and jean shorts a try and to my surprise they still fit him perfectly!! so jacob is going to be wearing alot of 0-3 mo shorts this summer... but they looked oh so cute and i'll post a few pictures on here of him in his old jean shorts which he wore at easter last year. Can't wait for summer weather to stick around!
