1year old check up!!!!
I can't believe that Jacob is one!! This year has really flewn by and it has been definitely the best year of my life, Jacob brings so much joy to Jimmy and I that we couldn't imagine life without him, he is definitely the best gift God has ever blessed us with. As far as his checkup goes, it went great! The doctor said he is in the 25th percentile for height and the 11th percentile for weight, which he said is where Jacob has been all along and is great especially with how active he is! He was 29 inches tall and 19 pounds 15 1/2 ounces ( i guess jacob just couldn't squeeze in that last 1/2 ounce to be a full 20 pounds.. hahaha) He was very pleased with how well jacob walks and all the words jacob can say, jacob also had to show off his dancing and waving and touchdown movements for the dr. along with saying "uh oh" and "no" during the visit. He listened to Jacob's lungs and was happy that jacob was handling his cold so well, without it going to his lungs at all like when he was little, he also was fine that we don't have jacob on any of his steroid inhalers like the Resp. Dr. ordered for him at Children's. He has a feeling that his asthma symptoms at the time were also related to his acid reflux that he has since outgrown. Jacob also did alot of smiling at the dr. and actually lifted his hands up to him to be held, the dr. mentioned how strong he was when he was trying to look in his ears... all in all jacob is in perfect health and we don't have to visit the dr. again until 15 months old.. now onto the part jacob wouldn't like me to mention is the shots.. I guess now they have a chicken pox vaccine??? anyway, he got that along with his flu shot and all the other regularly scheduled injections.. 3 in all! and by the time the nurse was onto the third jacob was kicking her in anger, that is the first tantrum i have ever seen from jacob where he was kicking his legs trying to get away from us, i had trouble even getting his pants on him. But quickly he turned to all smiles and even waved "bye" to the nurses as we left. He is such a sweet and happy boy and seems to be learning new things everyday... TODAY, he has learned how to throw a ball on demand and we can throw the ball back and forth to each other, of course that means throwing the ball to the ground as it rolls back and forth to each other, but nonetheless he can throw a ball now. His regularly used words everyday are now "mama, dada, no, uh oh, all done, and look" when he says look it is the cutest.. it goes something like this "looka, ooka, look, loooka" all in a row as he is pointing at something in the room.. and all done goes something like this " alldo done alldon alldo" very cute!! we say this alot when he is done eating.. but the most used word of all is probably "uh oh" he says that with perfection and uses it anytime anything is dropped or just because it's probably fun for him to say.
